          JOB START

          Training and placement program for qualified adult and dislocated workers which offers re-training, placement, and supportive services. Job Start also offers a job search skills workshop, a job resources center, professional advisors and career couseling. The program is funded through the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) from the U.S. Department of Labor and the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services in partership with Cuyahoga County and the City of Cleveland.

          Computer Training Workshops

          • (BASIC) Hands-on classes that cover basic hardware and software terminology, the Windows XP operating system, word-processing, internet job search techniques, email attachments, and keyboarding.
          • (INTERMEDIATE) Using Microsoft Word to create documents. Topics covered: page layout, text formatting, bullets and numbering, paragraph formatting, tables, mail merge and spell check. Using Microsoft Excel to create spreadsheets. Topics covered: navigating worksheets, entering data, creating formulas, formatting data, using functions, and creating charts.
