Orientation

Anyone wishing to participate in the Job Start program must first attend an orientation. Orientation is by appointment only and is held on Tuesdays beginning at 1pm and lasting until approximately 4pm. This meeting is essential to give you an in depth overview of the Job Start program, as well as provide us with important information about you.

Job Start Workshop

The purpose of the Job Start Workshop is to equip you with the tools necessary to finding reemployment. The workshop meets everyday, in the mornings, for two weeks. Topics covered include resume and letter writing, interviewing, networking, and other job search skills. Learn more...

Case Management

Each client is assigned to a case manager who works individually with you to help address your needs. Case managers can help with choosing a career or training path. Certain individuals may also qualify for other supportive services in the areas of transportation costs, child care needs, tools, uniforms and other equipment which may be needed to secure employment. Resources

The United Labor Agency can assist the job seeker at any step in the process. We have DSL computers available for your use with online job searches. We can provide you with resume paper, envelopes, labels and will even pay for the postage. Telephone, fax, and copy machines are available along with an extensive library of career materials including books, videos and CD-ROMs.

Training

Many participants who lack a marketable skill may qualify for re-training benefits. Speak with a case manager to see if you qualify.

In addition to being able to provide outside training, the ULA also has in-house training programs. Clients needing computer skills should take advantage of our computer class which can help even the most technologically unskilled. The workshop lasts two weeks long and is located in our new resource center boasting 10 brand new networked computers. For more information...
